Hickory Flat Elementary Foundation
About
The Hickory Flat Foundation originated in the 1940’s when the school staff and community came together to save the school. This leadership was called the Hickory Flat Trustees. The group helped to maintain the school grounds, provided homegrown food for the kitchen and even built a gymnasium on site with donations of wood and labor from the community. The HF trustees have evolved over the years to the HF Foundation, the group goal has remained the same – to provide support to the very best school in the county.
The Foundation is made up of school stakeholders with vested interest in the school. This group funds many on site projects for the enhancement of the school through fundraising and family events.
Some projects of the Foundation include fencing areas for school use, landscaping, classroom enhancements, installing an outdoor classroom, water bottle filling stations, and have even helped with purchasing and updating technology.
Our biggest events include the Daddy/Daughter night & Mother/Son Night, glow parties.
Currently we fundraising to complete a new playground and sunshade for all grade levels to enjoy.
